The team has played to a draw in its last two games with the most recent coming against conference-leading UCLA in a 1-1 tie. The teams played a scoreless first half before Santiago Hopkins netted the first goal of the game to give Cal a 1-0 lead. In the final ten minutes of the game, UCLA was able to beat Connor Lambe in net to even the score. The Golden Bears were unable to put in the go-ahead goal and had to settle for one point instead of three. 

When Cal and San Diego State met last season, the teams played to a 2-2 draw.
